Youth Ministry

Youth Ministry

Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

1 Timothy 4:12

The DuBois Alliance Church youth group is made up of two separate groups with a single purpose:  to come alongside parents as we work together to help teens and young adults during those challenging adolescent years.  Many people would agree that it is harder to be a teenager in today’s society than it ever has been before, and many parents feel like they just can’t do it without help.  The youth leaders at DuBois Alliance Church want to offer that help.  Soul Builders is a combination of two groups.  The Senior High (Grades 9-12) are referred to as the Souled Out group, while the Junior High (Grades 6-8) are referred to as the Faith Builders group.  Combining these groups, we call ourselves the Soul Builders youth group and we seek to help teens learn to love themselves, their families, their neighbors, and most importantly, to love God.

Sunday School

The youth Sunday school classes utilize the D6 curriculum.  The junior and senior high groups meet seperately in the upstairs of Fellowship Hall at 9:45 am every Sunday morning.

Wednesday Evening Youth Group

On Wednesday evenings the youth start the night off together for an opening time of games and worship.  Following the opening the groups separate into junior and senior high, where they will receive an age-appropriate Bible lesson.  Youth group is every Wednesday evening from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm.

From September to May, there is a free meal provided for anyone attending Wednesday evening ministries.  This meal is provided as a ministry to help families with busy schedules to share a meal together before attending their respective groups.  We understand the busyness of midweek schedules.

Youth Leaders

  • The heart of the DuBois Alliance Church youth ministry is in the leadership. Unlike traditional churches who have a pastor or single individual overseeing the youth ministry, DuBois Alliance Church believes that it takes a whole team with different gifts and strengths to be able to love and listen to all of the teens in our youth ministries.
  • DuBois Alliance youth leaders make themselves available to teens no matter the situation. Many of them are parents themselves so they understand the challenges of being a parent of teens.
  • Youth leaders also come alongside parents to equip them with the tools to raise these young men and women to Christ-following adults.  This is part of DuBois Alliance Church’s Faith @ Home philosophy.

Trips and Retreats

The Soul Builders youth groups offer a variety of different educational retreats as well as some fun trips throughout the year.  The purpose of these events is to help the youth grow as individuals, while growing closer as a group.
